Hot Dog Rant

I call it so because I am eating a hotdog while I type.

I'm just offering my thoughts concerning the recent dramas that have been going on lately. I'll just kind of list them off piece by piece.

Concerning what Jay said about our sunday meetings being nothing but a social group that is something I can neither agree nor disagree with. We are a group, simple as that. I've said that time and again. We also socialize, what group doesn't, and we feed off from that. I don't know about the rest of you but I prefer to work in the presence of people, whether they be strangers or not. And if I'm able pipe a playful insult or even just a joke and everyone is still able to have a good time it makes us all the more relaxed. The more relaxed we are the better our work. We definately benifit from one another.

We were called a social group, yes. But we benifited from the social aspect and got work done in the process. I'm not saying we are nothing but a social group but we do carry some slight qualities of it which I feel are benificial to our group as a whole.

As far as what I "heard" about Jay being concerned of us running with the gun before he has a chance to load it. To my understanding he wanted us to learn to be more independent and I thought we were doing quite well. He is a very busy man and can't babysit us all, the fact he was never really at the meetings anymore seems the outcome of that. If there is one thing I learned though is that many actions can result in the same outcome. I hold no more opinions on this matter unless I were to speak with Jay personally.

I know that most of you were directly invovled with the official issue of Comics Obscura even if I wasn't. We all worked very hard and we still do.

Here is my thought plain and simple.

Why is everyone so offended and being called a fun group?
"We all work very hard and we still do."

I've busted my ass on my pieces and in developing further to attain the proper level to have the honor of publishing under obscura. Over time I figured that the official issue would not work for me, that I wanted to do something more independent. So I did and I am.

My sweat and blood have went into this and I have plenty more to donate, and I also know all the rest of you can say the same about your respective projects.

The point is you know your work and how much effort you put into it, and if one man saying a comment not even directly related to your work causes you to shake you may want to think again.

You are you and your projects are your babies. A mother does not leave her child because her friends don't like the kid. Keep at it! You love what you do, and that should be all the incentive you need.
